You could have made nature and humankind the same; flat, one note, one size, and no color.

It’d be boring and blah.

Instead, you gave us colors, shades, tones, hues, textures, shapes, and sizes.

A golden sun filtering light through the trees with peeks of fluffy clouds against a brilliant blue sky.

Varying shades of green displaying the details of depth and texture.

Height, breadth, depth from ground cover to billowy trees and the regal heights of evergreens.

Cushioned moss, lacy fern, pokey pine needles, and rough bark line this trail I walk.

A soft pillow of earth beneath my feet on this forest path with the occasional crunch (how satisfying) of fallen leaves.

Nature’s song on the breeze consisting of scurrying critters, chirping birds, and rustling leaves.

These eyes to see, ears to hear, a nose to smell, breath to inhale – exhale, and this voice to exclaim my gratitude…

You didn’t have to do it, but I’m so very grateful you did.
